Music Ministry

Our Lady of Fatima Parish
Music Ministry Mission and Vision Statement

The Music Ministry of Our Lady of Fatima Parish exists to foster the full and active participation of all members of our parish community in Eucharist.

As there are " . . . many gifts, but the one same Spirit" (1 Corinthians 12:4) so our ministry takes varied form in light of the gifts of our parish community. The Our Lady of Fatima Music Ministry is made up of musicians committed to:

    •   serving the parish community by inspiring full and joyful participation in worship through congregational singing and reflective listening;
    •    reiterating and reflecting on God's Word in song;
    •    offering music as prayer of thanksgiving and praise to God;
    •    moving the parish community closer to God through music, the language of the heart and soul; e creating an environment which draws people into a deeper experience of the Eucharistic mystery we celebrate;
    •    recognizing and affirming the appropriateness of a variety of musical styles in worship, as each reflects the colors of the rainbow that is our parish.

Members of the parish family are offered the chance to exercise leadership roles in this ministry through:

• The Parish Choir: open to those of high school age through senior citizens, the Choir offers a structured choral experience. The Parish Choir provides music at the 9:30 am Sunday Liturgy and at other special liturgical celebrations through the year. Weekly rehearsals are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the church.

• Leaders of Song: open to members of any of the groups listed above, the Leaders of Song serve to assist the congregation in the exercise of their ministry of music to one another.
